Banqueting Supervisor
**Main purpose of job**:
To manage the setting up of events ensuring function sheets are followed exactly, greeting visitors, running the service of pre ordered food and drink along with other members of the management team. Cleaning and restocking, taking drinks orders and serving at the bar.
**Position reports to**:
Banqueting Assistant Manager and Banqueting Manager
**Location**:
The Chapel at The Kings Arms Hotel, High Street, Amersham, Bucks HP7 0DJ
**Shift pattern**:
Monday-Sundays between the hours of 7am-11pm
Late set up until 2am
**Main tasks of job**:
- Welcome customers when they arrive.
- Answer questions about menu, either directly from customers or posed via staff members
- Prepare drinks and serve them to guests
- Manage food service along with other members of the management team - running the pass, with the table plan in the room, or providing support by preparing for future items identified on the function sheet
- Staying attentive to the needs of the guests in the dining areas
- Following health and safety code standards with regards to food handling
- Delegating cleaning and clearing duties to the banqueting team (and helping where necessary)
- Actively working to keep events running according to function sheets, and solving issues as and when they arise
- Attending menu tastings with couples to ensure they have met the management team involved in their wedding & answering queries that relate to operational matters
**Additional Manager duties**:
- Assisting with the stock take.
- Assisting with staff training.
- Conducting regular inspections to determine whether proper hygiene standards are met.
- Assist with overseeing smooth service large banqueting events
- Assist the Banqueting Manager with ordering
- Covering duty manager shifts.
- Assisting in monthly health and safety checks.
- Ongoing and developing skills for the front of house team.
- Ensure staff are following the company’s policies and procedures
