**Why you should join us**

We're looking for an exceptional journalist to play a key role in planning and reporting for ITV Cymru Wales.

This is a high profile, on-screen role for an experienced reporter, someone with a proven track record for delivering impactful, high-quality, distinctive journalism.

You will have a solid background in journalism and have experience of working within a busy news environment. We're looking for someone who can deliver creative packages, write for online and report live on location and present bulletins in studio.

You should be able to self-shoot and edit and as a multi-platform operation you will also be enthusiastic about ensuring that ITV is at the forefront for digital audiences in Wales too and will look to regularly contribute to our digital service.

We're re-doubling our efforts to be more inclusive and representative of all our audience, and that starts with building trust and uncovering stories with particular appeal to under-represented groups.

No two days are the same and you will need to show us how your self discipline, work ethic and passion for news enables you to cope with a demanding workload.

For this role, you will need to be prepared to work regular weekends and evenings.

A showreel no longer than 5 minutes in duration demonstrating the minimum criteria is essential.

**This role entails**
- Generating a rich pool of creative ideas for stories, angles and treatments.
- Strong technical skills with regular editing and filming to tight deadlines.
- Good communicator with a passion for Wales and its people.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Drive innovative and distinct coverage.
- Keep abreast of key developments within Wales and maintain a strong contacts base.
- Ensure material is gathered in line with ITV’s various legal and regulatory frameworks.

**Minimum role criteria**:

- Depth of experience in an on screen role
- Recent achievements across the breadth of skills needed for the role including self-shooting, editing, reporting live on location and bulletin presenting.
- Strong understanding of Welsh audiences and the distinct nature of Wales and devolved structures.
- Self starter and ideas to bring original content to our audience on air and online.
- Full UK driving licence

**The Key role criteria is as follows**:

- Offers a different take with a track record for generating, developing and telling original stories.
- Strong self-shoot, self editing, bulletin presenting and live skills, with a mindset that is willing to take on new skills and responsibilities.
- Knowledge, skills and experience of reaching new audiences on new platforms.
- Excellent, relevant contacts with an ability to build trust with people, communities, faiths and races outside of their own to tell their stories and so deliver original coverage for our online and television audience.
- Excellent knowledge of media law & compliance and the ability to exercise excellent editorial judgement and accuracy in their writing.
- A good knowledge of Wales and its distinct features.

Salary Range: £26,329 - £53,596
