Finance and Administration Assistant

JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd is a family business that supplies commercial catering equipment to the UK catering industry and processes thousands of orders each month.
This is an engaging role enabling you to work across departments operating at the heart of our business. Your main duties will involve supporting our busy sales & purchase ledger team with daily bookkeeping tasks. In addition, you will support the operations manager in tracking credit notes and overseeing stock control.
There will also be added responsibilities in supporting the website team by price-checking, carrying out market research projects as well as product analysis using our internal reporting system.
This role will suit an individual who has great attention to detail, enjoys a variety of work and is a team player. Working across all the departments you will get a great feel for the company and the role will grow as your knowledge increases.
**Responsibilities**:
**Supporting the Finance team**
- Supporting purchase ledger with the processing of invoices, checking to purchase orders and agreeing to our internal system.
- Following up with the team about any anomalies and reporting back.
- Supporting sales ledger with the processing of invoices, checking to customer orders and agreeing to our internal system.
- Supporting the relevant department with holiday cover.
**Operations team**
- Helping chase credit notes and overseeing stock control and associated administrative tasks.
**Website team**
- Price checking and amending the website when appropriate.
- Running of internal product reports for analysis as directed.
- Carrying out market research to keep up to date with customer trends, as well as trying to predict future trends.
**Essential**
- A or B at GCSE Maths & English level.
- Excellent attention to detail - this is vital within each department
- An aptitude for IT - knowledge of software packages like Microsoft Word, Excel
- Self-discipline and good use of initiative
- Strong team working skills
- Thorough, organised and trustworthy
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Willing to learn and be flexible
**Desirable**
- AAT level 2 Accounting
- Knowledge of Sage 50icloud
- Previous bookkeeping/ finance assistant experience
**Salary**: £23,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
