**_Female Personal Assistant wanted to support a happy, outgoing couple in the LS25 area_**
**_Regular hours - 20 hours per week, across two days_**
**_Core hours: 10 hours per day on Thursdays and Fridays, ideally 08.00-18.00 on each day, but some flexibility and slightly shorter hours may be possible, to be discussed._**
**_Additional respite hours_**
**_My husband is my main carer and he gets the option of funded respite leave, so there will be regular ad hoc opportunities to additionally work a Wednesday, Saturday and/or Sunday from time to time, mutually agreed in advance._**
**_Rate of pay_**
**_Weekdays £12.40 per hour. Includes paid annual leave._**
**_Weekend respite days £15.44._**
**_Driving licence and own car essential._**
**_This is a permanent position and will be to start in August, when my existing PA moves away from the area._**

**_Hello I am an active, fun-loving, chatty, down to earth person. Along with my husband, I love the great outdoors and I'm well travelled. I have a zest for life and enjoy socialising, the arts, gardening, baking and books._**
**_I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) which is now at the secondary progressive stage and I have to use a wheelchair all of the time. I have good upper body strength so I can pull myself up to standing, but I have very little strength in my lower body. Our house is fitted with an internal lift._**
**_We are looking for a mindful, observant PA to support with meeting my needs, both around the house and on local trips out. Someone with a positive, can-do attitude, who is proactive, with a mature but fun outlook on life. Our successful PA will be honest and upfront, good-natured and helpful. They will be willing to learn about my needs, be strong, and physically fit to carry out their role. Having a sense of humour is essential A large part of this role is companionship and assistance to do fun activities._**
**_Personal Care - The PA will be required to support me in the mornings with assisting me to get out of bed and push me to and from the shower. I can wash myself, but I need assistance with drying and getting dressed. I am sometimes bladder incontinent and wear pull-up pads. My PA would need to assist me with changing into a fresh pad if required._**
**_Exercising - The PA will be required to assist and supervise me when I do my exercises, for example helping me get strapped into my standing frame aid, which helps me to maintain my core strength. I also use elastic exercise equipment for my upper body, again the PA would need to assist me with setting this up._**
**_Getting out - I like to get outdoors. This could be as simple as helping me to use the garden, but ideally the PA would provide me with assistance and company with socialising and getting out and about locally, both by car and using my wheelchair. I have a powered trike attachment for my wheelchair so the PA will not always be required to push. Car mileage will be reimbursed. Car insurance will need to include business use._**
**_Domestic duties - The role includes preparation of food. The PA will also be required to help us with housework so that we can enjoy our time together as a married couple. This will include vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, loading/unloading the dishwasher, changing the bedding, and cleaning the kitchen, bathroom and downstairs toilet._**
