Risk Consultant - Higher Education

(Remote Opportunity)
- Based remotely or in any of our UK Offices, the purpose of this role is to provide a wide range of health and safety / risk management consultancy services, including advice and guidance, to our established and growing higher education client base._
- The role will also include developing and promoting new services and products for our clients._

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- To provide a wide range of health and safety / risk management consultancy services to our higher education clients.
- To act as the lead consultant and provider of Risk Consulting services for a defined portfolio of established higher education clients.
- To promote and encourage clients to use our Risk Consulting services, ensuring that projects are completed to the satisfaction of the client.
- To assist the Manager - Risk Consulting and Director - Risk Consulting in developing and promoting new services and products.
- Operate and maintain efficient administrative systems for arranging and managing consultancy work, providing update reports as requested.

Client facing duties will include:

- Preparing proposals to higher education clients on a range of services suitable to their needs.
- Conducting a wide range of health and safety / risk management liability reviews resulting in the production of high quality written reports containing practical risk mitigation recommendations.
- Undertaking statistical analysis of claims information with a view to the production of detailed analytical reports for clients.
- Assisting in the production of regular high quality guidance materials for clients.

Administrative duties will include:

- Operating and updating internal administrative client management and reporting
- systems on a regular basis.
- Assisting the Manager - Risk Consulting and Directors of Gallagher Bassett in the delivery of advice and guidance designed protect the health and safety of all Gallagher Bassett employees.
- Overseeing the work of Associate Consultants to ensure high standards are maintained and to provide guidance where necessary.
- Comply with all Gallagher Bassett and office procedures.
- Any other duty as required by Gallagher Bassett.

**Knowledge Required**:

- NEBOSH / IOSH Qualification (or equivalent) and/or recognised Risk Management qualification (training can be provided)
- Experience of working within / for the higher education sector (preferable)
- Good level of knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of legislative requirements approved codes and best practice guidelines relating to health and safety / risk management.
- Understanding and knowledge of legal liability principles and legal process.
- Understanding and knowledge of general insurance principles.

**Skills Required**:

- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence at the highest levels and to present training courses, seminars etc. to a high standard.
- Able to prepare detailed, clear, concise, written reports.
- Able to develop detailed and clear training programmes.
- Able to undertake statistical analysis of data.
- Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Good administrative and time management skills, able to organise workloads and diary to achieve objectives and to work without direct supervision.
