We are currently looking for an experienced Model Shop Group Leader to join our Aerodynamics Department in UK. In this role you will support the Head of Model Shop in overseeing and taking responsiblity for all aspects of the wind tunnel model preparation, and in co-ordinating model shop resource to meet the requirements of the aerodynamic testing plan. This includes: people management, clear & detailed understanding of the requirements of the aero test plan, part preparation, pre-fitting, model assembly, model maintenance, co-ordination of parts for tests, investigating & implementing improvements in all of the above, wind tunnel shift cover as necessary.

**MODEL SHOP LEADERSHIP**

Supporting the Head of Model shop in all daily operations in the model shop, to meet the requirements of the test schedule.

Take a hands-on role in part production.

Show a detailed understanding of the requirements of the production schedule and manage jobs effectively.

To have a proactive attitude in the development of the model and all associated operations.

Oversee and participate in the build & preparation of the wind tunnel models to the highest standards.

Ensure the team has stocks and spares available at all times.

Oversee the Wind Tunnel tests to ensure efficient operation in all areas.

Execute day-to-day tasks as requested by the Head of Model Shop, providing a flexible approach and dedication to our continued development.

Act independently and taking full responsibility on day-to-day management of group tasks.

Assist in the production of all necessary parts to support the aero testing programme.

Assist with management of the model shop and with wind tunnel shift cover according to demand.

**PROFESSIONALISM**

Create and hold good communication links within the department.

Identify problems & implement improvements across all assigned areas of responsibility.

**Qualifications**:
Excellent proven Model making experience.

Previous experience in motorsport will be beneficial.

Solid engineering background.

Demonstrable organisational skills and understanding of the complexities of overseeing a wind tunnel testing programme.

Knowledge in using computers and main software (Microsoft Office Suite).

High attention to detail, accuracy and precision.

Ability to scope all tasks thoroughly.

Ability to work under time pressure.

Good communication skills.

Provide an enthusiastic, proactive approach to working in our busy shop.

Initiative and innovation, with a can do attitude and desire to succeed.

Solid and proven leadership skills and autonomy.
