Finance Apprentice

**Job Purpose**:
To provide the finance team with appropriate finance and administrative support, including processing transactions.

**Individual Role and Tasks**:

- Processing purchase invoices for various companies onto Sage 50 Accounts system
- Ensure purchase invoices are posted to the correct nominals
- Checking Accounts Inbox and actioning
- Raise purchase orders for various teams in the company
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards.
- Administering and reconciling Petty Cash.
- Enter payments onto our Barclays Internet Banking System for authorisation
- Liaise with suppliers and resolve disputes
- Communicate effectively at all levels
- Assist with queries relating to submission of annual accounts to external Accountants
- Assist the team where required with office admin and queries
- Ad-hoc duties as delegated by Purchase Ledger Manager

Skills & Experience

**Essential**
- Experience of working towards deadlines
- Work as part of a team
- Demonstrate good communication skills

**Desirable**
- 2 GCSE’s A*-C in English and Mathematics or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Good typing & keyboard skills
- Willingness to communicate basic information to clients, senior finance service colleagues and team members.
- Time and task management skills
- IT skills required to work on spreadsheets
- With guidance the post holder will interpret situations and help solve straightforward problems

**Note: This is an entry-level position, and no prior experience is necessary. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in their chosen field. Apprentices will receive on-the-job training and guidance from experienced professionals.**

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
