**Logistics Controller**
**Full time or Part time (24 hours per week, over 4 days on site)**
- (Hours to be worked within our opening hours of 8.00am - 4.30pm Mon-Thu and 8.00am - 1.00pm Friday)_

**Key Duties**
- Managing the shipping of new machine sales to our worldwide customer base via air, road and sea freight.
- Demonstrating responsibility and passion for shipments once they leave our factory all the way to arrival with the customer, proactively keeping the customer informed and acting as the out of hours contact when required.
- Administrating high quantities of Fedex/DHL shipments to ensure spares orders are dispatched in a timely fashion, liaising closely with Aftercare, Stores and final customer.
- Collecting all correct documentation prior to despatch and at delivery of machinery/spares.
- Managing customs processes to ensure correct management of duties, VAT and excise taxes.
- Ensure all shipments are in compliance with current customs regulations.
- Develop and administer processes and infrastructure required in compliance with customs and government regulations.
- Proactively liaising with Aftercare, Commercial, Purchasing and Production departments to ensure smooth customer experience relating to import and export, through demonstrating first rate co-ordination and organisational abilities.
- Reviewing paperwork and documents to ensure shipping, handling, storage charges, and customs fees are billed correctly.
- Obtain origin document from internal departments and external sources.
- Liaison with customers to ensure correct and accurate paperwork.
- Have excellent knowledge of customs classification and tariff codes.
- Managing the Inward Processing Relief (IPR) process.
- Research and provide competitive quotations, providing "value for money" logistic services to the customer.
- Carry out such other tasks as may from time to time be requested, within the competence of the jobholder.
**Skills/Experience**
**Essential**
- Excellent understanding of UK and global customs procedures for exporting and importing goods.
- Certificates of Origin; EUR1 & AAD's understanding / experience
- Working knowledge of Inward Processing Relief (IPR).
- Used to working unsupervised and using own initiative.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Experience with Systems usage (ERP/MRP)
**Desirable**
- Commodity or packaging logistics background in the automotive industry or similar mechanical industry highly desirable.
