Kitchen Porter

Our busy Tea Rooms are urgently requiring a Kitchen Porter to work Sunday & Monday 9.30am - 5.30pm with the opportunity for additional shifts. You must be flexible to cover holidays etc.

**Job Role**:
Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen. Washing dirty dishes, cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans and loading dishes into the dishwasher fast and efficiently. Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly. Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support chefs in a specific work section.
- Wash, peel and prepare food items.
- Use a variety of kitchen equipment such as mixers, special knives and cutters.
- unload deliveries.
- Organise the storeroom.
- Wash kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls.
- Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas to include walls and floors.
- Transports dirty linen to correct area to be cleaned.

The attributes we are looking for include;
Understanding and complying with hygiene and safety standards is crucial for maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment in the kitchen. This includes knowledge of appropriate chemical use, equipment handling and waste management.

Responsible, reliable and trustworthy. Conscientious, especially in your attitude to security and safety. Practical, with the ability to use your hands well to operate tools and equipment.

The ability to pick up tasks quickly and work under your own supervision is similarly essential, and adapting well to the kitchen environment is key for those looking to move forward in this industry. The ability to 'stand the heat' also desirable. Minimum of 16 hours offered but opportunity for more shifts.
