**JOB TITLE**: Functional Skills Tutor - Supported Internships

**REPORTS TO**: Programme Manager

**LOCATION**: Selby (Community House), North Yorkshire

**HOURS OF WORK**: 6 hours per week (term-time only - 36 weeks) (9 - 3.30 pm with 30 mins for lunch)

**SALARY BAND**:£25 per hour

Purpose of Job

We are looking to recruit an exceptional functional skills tutor to work with our green skills team delivering Supported Internships in Selby. The tutor will be responsible for the development and delivery of our functional skills courses in English and Maths and Employability, as well as developing personal and social skills of young people aged 16 - 24 with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.

Alongside delivery of courses in a range of on-site and off-site learning environments, the role will require session planning and evaluation and ensuring compliance of all Groundwork policies and procedures.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. To deliver accredited NOCN functional skills in English and Maths as well as a package of other soft skills courses to develop learner’s personal social development.

2. To deliver employability sessions that will extend learners vocational knowledge and prepare them to enter the world of work or further education.

3. To deliver qualifications to learners and manage the paperwork and assessment materials, liaising closely with internal moderators.

4. To support learners in the creation of portfolios of work, working closely with other delivery staff to manage and integrate the gathering of evidence for accredited programmes.

5. Create schemes of work and lesson plans and perform risk assessments where necessary for all learning sessions delivered.

6. Share expertise and skills with other Groundwork tutors to enhance delivery and help develop programmes.

7. Monitor and review learner progress, ensuring monitoring systems are accurately capturing data, providing advice and support throughout the learners’ agreed programme.

8. Managing communication skills and a tailored approach to different individuals if required, taking account of different perspectives, personalities, behaviours and cultures.

9. Ensure the maintenance of internal electronic and hard copy information systems that record relevant learner outcomes and support the requirements of Groundwork, funders and partners.

10. Work with the green skills team to ensure the timetable developed is suitable to the needs of the young people.

11. Ensure all teaching within the vocational curriculum is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget providing progress reports to the Programme Manager.

12. Play an active role in the team and actively promote a positive image of Groundwork Yorkshire and represent Groundwork Yorkshire as required at relevant meetings.

14. Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £25.00 per hour
