**Underwriting Assistant - Energy Liability and Energy Downstream**

London, UK

Fantastic entry level / second job position as an Underwriting Assistant within AXA XL’s Energy team. This role is a hybrid role combining both time in our newly refurbished London office as well as remotely under our Smart Working initiative.

The primary purpose of the Underwriting Assistant role is to support the existing Underwriting book of business, whilst developing the necessary skillset to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders

The primary purpose of the Underwriting Assistant role is to support the underwriting team in the maintenance, servicing, retention and development of the existing Underwriting portfolio, whilst developing the necessary skillset to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.

The role includes pre and post bind processes within the Energy Underwriting business units, providing accurate and efficient processing of accounts, with quality service levels, ensuring the end-to-end process is fully compliant in accordance with AXA XL guidelines.

This is an excellent role for a school leaver/graduate/early career professional looking to start their career in the London Insurance Market

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Working with Underwriters to develop your knowledge of the class of business and the accounts written by:

- o Effective and timely submission of documents to data entry teams to record risk details on IT systems
- o Maintain underwriting documentation/files; keeping all documentation in order
- o Develop requirements for statistical and insightful reports for Underwriting function
- o Monitor renewal lists and co-ordinate as required, including timely and accurate data retrieval
- Liaising with the Credit Control team - answering queries, tracking and monitoring premium using core underwriting systems.
- Building relationships with underwriting support functions (including brokers) to respond to regular control and exception reports, including data entry and ensure adherence to common standards across the business

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

- Minimum A-level standard of education or equivalent business experience
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
- Effective communicator
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive organisational skills and ability to plan and prioritise work, using their own initiative and keeping one step ahead
- Beneficial: experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and system data entry experience and processes
