**Reports To** Head Performance Chef

**Purpose of the Role**

The Kitchen Porter will support the Head Performance Chef in all aspects of providing a first-class catering service, including within the dining room and kitchen areas, maintaining high standards of customer service and food hygiene, and undertaking a range of tasks, working collaboratively as part of a team.

**Functional Links Internal**:* Sporting Director, First Team Managers and Coaches, First Team Players, Academy Manager, Academy Coaches and Staff, Academy Players, Club Managing Director and Directors, Catering Team, Staff and Managers throughout the Club and Foundation.

**Functional Links External:

- **Suppliers, other Clubs’ players and staff, visitors.

**Key Performance Indicators**

High standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining area are in place at all times.

All designated tasks are fulfilled in a timely manner.

Customer service is consistently professional and at a high standard.

**Role Specific Responsibilities**

The post holder is required to:

- Maintain cleanliness in all catering and dining areas within the training ground, including cleaning tables, equipment, and emptying bins.
- Collect and wash pots, pans, plates, and cutlery, to ensure they are back in use in a timely manner.
- Wash and disinfect kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors, and walls.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is properly stored.
- Remove and recycle waste from the kitchen.
- Assist with all aspects of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the kitchen, equipment and other food service areas.
- Assist in receiving and unloading deliveries.
- Organise the storeroom when required.
- Ensure that all checklists are completed, and high standards are consistently maintained in all aspects of the role.
- Ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with statutory and/or company Health and Safety requirements, including food hygiene regulations.
- Follow the instructions and recommendations from the senior chefs and the Catering Supervisor, to complete allocated daily tasks.
- Contribute to effective communication between all team members and all staff by maintaining a secure and friendly working environment.
- Undertake training and continuing professional development (CPD) as required, to increase own skill levels and knowledge, thus enhancing the overall performance of the team.
- Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet the changing priorities of the department and organisation.

**This job description is not intended to be exhaustive, and the post holder is required to undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Head Performance Chef, Sporting Director, the Huddersfield Town Managing Director, or any other senior leader/Director within the Club, commensurate with the level of the post.**

This is a full-time position working 35+ hours per week, which includes weekdays and weekends. A typical shift is 7:00am to 3:00pm with an unpaid lunch break of one hour per day.
