**Job Details**:
A renowed town centre restaurant, offering a high-end service and overall fine dining experience in Dumfries, now require a strong front of house leader to support their busy venue.

Popular with both locals and tourism, the venue strives on a quality reputation and returning customers. Therefore someone who is passionate to offer high standards in customer service as well as an understanding of restaurant operations, would be ideal for this role.

Possibly a strong restaurant team member or supervisor, looking for their next step within the hospitality industry, this could be the role for you.

**Duties include**:

- Extend the warmest of welcomes to all guests.
- Have an attentive approach to all guests.
- To take orders from customers and ensure these reach the appropriate department.
- Ensure reservations are accurate and set venue correctly.
- Have an understanding of statutory regulations affecting health and safety and ensure that any health or safety hazard is rectified.
- Assist in hosting daily pre-service staff meetings to impart all relevant menu and guest information.
- Assist in holding regular on-the-job training sessions to ensure that staff can perform their duties correctly.
- Maintain a high degree of interest in self-development, displaying this by making realistic recommendations.
- Ensure accurate daily banking and billing at all times.
- Handle customer complaints swiftly and effectively.
- Be aware of food safety and allergy guidelines and ensure guests are not put at risk through poor practices.
- Maintain the highest level of visual aesthetic in all customer facing, and non-customer facing sections.
- Assist in maintaining the highest level of Health and Safety, food hygiene standards, staff engagement, and general training.
- Work with the Assistant Hospitality Manager and Hospitality Manager to ensure that all food menus comply with allergy regulations and that hospitality staff are appropriately trained in this regard.
- Ensure that staff are competent in customer invoicing, managing the till and taking payments via cash or card.
- Develop and deliver a hospitality environment and a standard of presentation, service and hospitality that’s in-keeping with a high quality culinary experience.

**Hours, pay and benefits**
40 hours per week, across 7 days.

Work-life balance scheme in place.

Up to £22,000 per annum, depending on experience.
