Finance Assistant

Johnston Fuels are a family business with 13 limited companies within the group. We have been delivering fuel since 1965 with a focus on exceptional customer service.

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join the team at our Head Office in Bathgate on a Fixed Term Contract to cover Maternity leave.

**Main Duties**:

- Opening and distributing incoming post within the Head Office
- Arranging outgoing post to all Customers in the afternoon
- Being the first person to answer external and internal telephone calls
- Dealing with initial request before fielding calls to other finance members, if necessary
- Running weekly reminder letters
- Scanning documents onto customers’ accounts
- Credit Control assistance
- Processing card payments
- Processing and posting cheque payments onto customers’ accounts
- Processing unpaid Direct Debits
- Running daily invoices and monthly statements
- Setting up of new customer accounts and maintaining existing account details
- Processing stock transactions and confirming deliveries of fuel onto customers’ accounts
- Working closely with the Senior finance team to assist where necessary

**The Person**

This is an extremely varied role within a busy Accounts Department.

To be considered for the role you must:

- Have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Excellent attention to detail, reliable and hardworking
- A strong communicator that’s able to work well within a team and help other team members when needed
- Be able to multi-task and prioritise workload
- **This role is a Fixed Term Contract to cover Maternity leave with the potential to become permanent.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: From £18,000.00 per year
