**Financial Accountant | West Kent/Hybrid | £40k - £50k DOE**
A fast paced; highly acquisitive private equity backed business based in West Kent has a vacancy for a Financial Accountant to join their growing finance team. They are looking for someone with strong Audit and Tax. This is a permanent opportunity and the organisationcurrently work on a hybrid basis of 3 days office based and 2 days from home.
You will be responsible for the statutory reporting requirements for the group, including external audit and financial statements, tax (primarily Corporation Tax and VAT), treasury.
The role will also be responsible for:
- Coordination of the financial audit and interim audits for the group as required, review of statutory accounts prepared externally.
- Review of adherence to accounting policy at all times and promoting consistency across all areas of the group.
- Review of financial data for new group acquisitions and integration of relevant data into the accounting system.
- Ownership of group chart of accounts and month/year end close process, with associated adjustments as required.
- Responsibility for fixed asset accounting, capex monitoring and reporting.
- Ownership of holding company accounting and group elimination entries.
- Investment accounting within the group.
- Review of company secretarial services provided for the group (currently outsourced).
- Group VAT processing of returns, payments and reconciliations at legal entity levels, working with the wider Group Finance team to ensure compliance with VAT legislation.
- Reconciliation of Corporation Tax for all group companies, responsible for ensuring corporation tax payments are made in a timely and accurate manner, providing relevant quarterly information to advisers to facilitate tax calculations, related liaison withexternal and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting the group to make best use of new tax initiatives available and that the group is fully compliant with current tax laws and regulations.
- Development and preparation of group cashflow reporting, working with other finance teams to maximise working capital, develop best practice cashflow reporting to support business development planning.
- Review to all Group policies and procedures and ensuring that all colleagues in the service are aware of and understand company policies.
You will need
- Recent experience in financial accounting with strong experience in Audits and Tax
- Qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Involvement in group accounting and consolidation
- Exposure to mergers and acquisition accounting and process an advantage
- Able to demonstrate experience of working to tight deadlines in a busy working environment
- Possess a good understanding of Excel (pivot tables/vlookups)
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- A team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn
- A self-starter who is pro-active and can set and achieve goals
