**Purpose**: Supporting the individuals who access our Day Opportunities to fulfil their potential for independence, choice, inclusion and empowerment. Ensure that the People We Support are guided productively and supported to develop their abilities and creativity in line with Green Care principles.

**Salary**:£10.90 per hour.

**Hours**: 18 per week, Monday to Friday.

We have an opening for you to join us as a Day Opportunities Support Worker Part Time at our beautiful Botton Community, near Danby, Whitby. If the following appeals, we’d love to hear from you.

**Who are we looking for?**
- Experience of working with a variety of craft skills is desirable.
- You’ll ideally have previous experience of working with people with learning disabilities.
- Working knowledge of health & safety and safeguarding.
- Good level of IT skills including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Interest and understanding of Camphill ethos/principles and/or Anthroposophy would be an advantage.
- A willingness to support individuals with personal care when required is essential.
- Specific traditional craft qualifications or interests relating to the studio environment would be advantageous, for example: ceramics, felt making, green woodworking, whittling, willow weaving, weaving, printmaking, surface pattern/têxtiles etc.

**What are the main responsibilities of this role?**
- Encourage the People We Support to take advantage of the meaningful opportunities within the Day Opportunities and, where appropriate work towards accredited qualifications and learning, development and progression.
- Support individuals within the guidance of their needs assessments and person-centred support plans.
- Develop inclusive and meaningful activities to encourage and enable individuals to learn new or enhance existing skills.
- Encourage and support others to work safely and in accordance with the Trusts’ policies and procedures with particular regard to health and safety requirements.
- Complete/update support plans and record information in an orderly manner and timely basis.
- Attend meetings, mandatory training and supervisions as required to ensure compliance.
- Support and encourage social interaction and strive to develop a positive group dynamic.
- Plan and prepare craft projects with the people we support and ensure they are tailored to suit individual's needs, abilities and ambitions.
- Encourage individuals to access training development and work opportunities.
- Develop and encourage nature-based traditional craft activities in line with the principles of Green Care. Promote environmental issues and encourage best practise in sustainability, upcycling and use natural resources sensitively and appropriately.
- Read and understand essential information and documentation to enable you to communicate with people we support and provide person centred support, including one-page profiles, risk assessments and project/goal planning.
