Head Gardener

**About us**

Wild Lawns is a small business in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. We are professional, agile, and our goal is to upgrade and maintain the gardens of Weston.

**Duties**:

- Lead, supervise, and train gardening staff, ensuring efficient completion of tasks and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Actively participate in various gardening tasks including planting, pruning, and watering plants.
- Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, and fertilizing.
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as weeding, mulching, and raking leaves.
- Operate power tools and equipment for tasks such as trimming hedges and trees.
- Oversee and participate in groundskeeping duties such as cleaning walkways and removing debris.
- Liaise with customers to understand their requirements, resolve any issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Plan and design gardens, taking into account clients' preferences and the environmental conditions. This task may sometimes be performed from home.
- Follow and enforce safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

**Skills**:

- Extensive knowledge of different plants, flowers, and trees.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in gardening or landscaping.
- Hands-on experience with both power tools and hand tools used in gardening.
- Familiarity with lawn care techniques and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient in planning and design of gardens and outdoor spaces.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce instructions.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.

Note: Previous experience in farming, landscaping, or a similar supervisory role is a plus.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.00-£15.00 per hour
