Neuromuscular/motor Neurone Disease Higher Clerical

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a enthusiastic and dynamic Band 3 Neuromuscular / Motor Neurone Disease Higher Clerical Officer to join the Neurology Team based in Morriston Hospital.

The post holder will be required to provide efficient and effective administrative support to MND Nurses and Neuromuscular Care Advisors.

The post holder will also be required to support the MND nurses and Neuromuscular Care Advisors providing general administrative duties including answering the phone, adding information to a database, filing etc.

To provide the first point of contact for the MND and Neuromuscular coordinators and members of the public who telephone with queries.

To manage general enquiries, exercise judgement and use initiative in a one to one situation, in person or on the telephone and to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with the varied situations that arise on a day to day basis.

To coordinate arrangements for monthly staff meetings.

To ensure that papers and notes for meetings are provided as necessary.

To ensure that there is a comprehensive filing system for nurses and Care Advisors in accordance with records management and other relevant policies.

To assist with general administrative matters that may occur within the Directorate which require the support of the post holder.

The post holder will link with the neurology secretaries across SBU sites.

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- Good general education
- Typing qualification

RSA 2/3 or equivalent experience.

Desirable
- Audio typing/shorthand

Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in minute/note taking
- Experience of dealing with Executives/Senior Managers within an organisation
- Experience of working within a team providing administrative support

Desirable
- Experience of working in a Personal Assistant role
- Experience of working within the NHS

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent IT skills including e mail, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
