Vocal Tutor

Lamp House Music is a well-established music school, playing a central role in the music education of both adults and children in the East Lothian area.

We strive to provide our pupils with consistent, quality lessons on a weekly basis with follow up notes to use at home for practise. At 200 pupils, Lamp House Music is thriving and is fully committed to providing performance opportunities as well as full support for pupils taking school music exams and grade exams. We also hold two holiday camps throughout the year.

Our music tutors have access to our music lesson management software to keep track of lesson timings and upload notes. We also have a full administrative service at Lamp House to provide our tutors with more freedom to concentrate on teaching.

**Position Type**: Freelance

**Hours**: Thursdays 15.00-21.00pm

**Contract**: YES - running until the end of the academic year.

**Hourly Rate**: £19-£21/hour

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Music - or final year of study for a music degree.
- Previous experience in teaching is desired.
- Previous experience in teaching group general music lessons to young children is an added positive.

**Requirements**:

- Provide consistent weekly lessons with teaching material adjusted to the level and needs of the pupil.
- Reliable and punctual with an aptitude for good communication both written and verbal
- Provide lesson notes that are concise and relevant to progress.
- Provide feedback when necessary to admin/parent on progress.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: £19.00-£21.00 per hour

- Day shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Haddington: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Teaching: 1 year (preferred)
