Draughtsman

**Draughtsman, circa £30,000, Carlisle / Hybrid Working**

Our client based in Carlisle are a successful engineering and manufacturing firm that use cutting-edge technology for their specialist product. They are seen as experts in their field and their design and manufacturing services are sought after internationally.The company supply to a wide range of sectors across the UK and the world, including but not limited to food, agriculture, chemical, pharmaceutical, mineral, mining, and waste to energy.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Be responsible for the production of all fabrication’s drawings upon request to the relevant standards and procedures
- Ensure that all drawings and work instructions are kept up to date
- Prepare material lists
- Ensure quality of products and services is maintained and make improvements to the processes where necessary
- Work under the Projects Manager, Design Manager and Chief Draughtsman
- Carry out regular programme monitoring to identify changes in the status of the projects
- Corresponding with clients with a professional and courteous attitude
- Take responsibility for enquiries received
- Estimating and supply quotations
- You will be required to use a mixture of AutoCAD and Inventor as a drawing package to complete jobs on varying scales for small fabrications, dryers and pipework

**Key measurements and targets**:

- Production of drawings to a high level and within appropriate timescale

Any other ad hoc duties commensurate with the role.

**Person Specification**

**Essential Requirements**:

- Drafting background and suitable qualifications
- Self-motivated
- Experience using MS Office package
- Able to produce clear and informative production drawings and technical information
- Work on your own initiative
- Be able to work within a team
- Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- ONC or HNC Mechanical Engineering
- AutoCAD experience
- Inventor experience - optional
