Helston Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) is looking for an experienced Band 6 MIU Practitioner to work in an advanced practice role, which includes minor illness. You will work in a practitioner led MIU, with no medical cover, and also across the in-patient ward as and when required.

You need to be able to assess a variety of minor ailments, assess and manage wounds and provide resuscitation to adults and children. A passion for minor injury care, good communication skills, and a commitment to work in an MIU team delivering high quality care are all essential. You must be responsive to change, flexible in your approach and have a sound knowledge of professional issues.

The MIU operates from 8am - 8pm covering a 7-day service and is committed to delivering high quality care to the local population, which exhibits a marked increase in patient-attendance during the holiday periods.
- To deliver, without supervision, effective assessment and treatment of patients utilising evidence based approach. Responsible for the care needs, the management of treatment and evaluation of clinical interventions, reflecting the needs of patients attending this Unit.
