Gilbert Meher are delighted to be working with one of the country’s leading providers of specialist care for adults requiring neurorehabilitation, who are looking for an interim deputy manager for one of their services based in Suffolk.
Overview
Role: Deputy Manager
Hours: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Contract Length: 3 months, with a view to extend or become permanent
Daily Rate: £400 per day
The service provides care to men and women with complex healthcare needs associated with a neurological condition, including acquired brain injury (stroke, trauma, tumour, encephalitis, aneurysm, haemorrhage) or a progressive neurological condition, for exampleHuntington’s Disease or Parkinson’s Disease.Treatment is offered in a comfortable setting with access to modern equipment and facilities including physiotherapy gym, occupational therapy training kitchen and wheelchair accessible sensory garden.There isalso ample space for quiet reflection, socialising and family visits.
Duties
- Support and assist the registered manager in the day-to-day running of the service, ensure that high standards of care and support are maintained. Adhere to all requirements and regulations. Continuously monitor, assesses and improve the quality of serviceprovision to service users
- Support the assessment of potential new tenants or residents, guided by the assessment and referrals policy.
- Facilitate monthly staff meetings with accompanying records
- Ensure that the building is well-maintained and provides a safe and stimulating environment for people. Completes regular Health & Safety monitoring and risk assessments and ensures compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation.

- Monthly Audits
- Monitor the staff team and the support they provide to ensure individuals are supported effectively, and have their needs met in a positive and proactive way.
- Work alongside the manager to manage the recruitment of high-quality staff. Proactively support the manager with inductions, supervisions, staff development (including appraisals and probation reviews), performance management and training. Liaise with themanager to take appropriate action when staff performance falls below acceptable levels.
- Provide staff with appropriate support, information and training to enable them to effectively deliver their roles. Ensure staff adhere to all policies and procedures.

Experience Required
- Minimum of 2 years of working with people with ABI or Learning Disabilities
- Person centered planning processes
- Budget management including managing money in the service
- Record keeping within a social care setting
- Running a service and meeting all relevant quality standards including Health and Safety, Medication, internal and external auditing
- The ability to work shifts in a flexible manner revolving around the service user needs, which will include evening, weekend and sleep-in
- Ability to cope under pressure
- A positive attitude to change
