**LEAD PIPING ENGINEER**

Our client is looking to bring in a Lead Piping Engineer for a Hydrogen plant extension project that is being carried out in the North West of England.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Development of pipe specifications from scratch and assessment of Piping Materials.
- Support Estimations for Concept, Manpower, Bids, Studies, Specs., MTO, Piping Supports & Stress calculation for projects (FEED, EPC / EPCM, LTSK, Reimbursable);
- Experience with modular design and support on Fabrication, Logistics & Erection. Construction.
- Experience with Piping Supports & Stress Analysis
- Responsible for the engineering of piping systems and fittings and development of layout during the front-end engineering design
- Develop specifications for static and rotating equipment.
- Supervise/Manage Quality, Cost and Schedule for piping and mechanical discipline in the Project.
- Responsible for the execution and coordination of activities related to the design, engineering and procurement of Piping, including flexibility and stress analysis of piping systems, mechanical integrity and specification of piping components.
- Responsible for the coordination of 3D Modelling activities.
- Support cost estimation activities for piping and mechanical disciplines
- Develop a core set of generic piping and mechanical documentation for unit operations suitable for Pre-feed and feed studies.

**KEY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED**
- Be a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer.
- Skilled in mechanical engineering, shall have a good knowledge about fabricated equipment and material and design codes (GB, ASTM, ASME)
- Proven experience in the design and construction of chemical process and/or gas industries, coming from a technology licensor background or client site based is advantageous
- Experience with front end studies, developing plant layouts, detail drawings and construction packages.
- Keen on developing yourself technically and are interested in documenting the learnings for future implementation and improvement.
- Broad and good professional knowledge in the fields of piping and layout engineering for chemical installations
- Working knowledge of stress calculations and piping materials and with drive to build up or further expand this knowledge.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Have a high concern for standards.
