Trainee plant Fitter - Doncaster

**Your tasks**:

- Learning how to ensure the current status of machines under repair are all relayed to the relevant staff/supervision and are left in a safe condition.
- Supporting to carry out ad-hoc maintenance and repairs of Rail Plant, machinery and equipment in accordance to manufacture vehicle maintenance and overhauls instructions and detailed in company procedures.
- Supporting to carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the repair notification procedures and schedules.
- Carry out electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs as required under guidance and mentorship.
- Under guidance, undertake fault finding, installations and testing of plant equipment to current legislation.
- Ensure all company documentation is maintained in a timely manner.
- Discuss and Identify new means of improving the efficiency and reducing the down time of plant machinery from lessons learnt.
- Responsible for exercising reasonable care for the Health and Safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
- Ensure that all environmental issues are adhered to within the Company’s Environmental Awareness and Education Module.
- Use the machines and ancillary equipment safely and in accordance with the training/instructions given, in line with company procedures.

**Your profile**:

- Minimum 1 years’ experience within a similar industry.
- Basic IT skills
- A professionally recognised qualification in Plant maintenance and repair (NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent)
- Willingness to travel and to learn and open minded for new technologies
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Full driving licence
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- The ability to stay calm and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel to different locations as and when required.
