**The role will be based at Barking Rail, London.**

WARD are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor to carry out general duties to ensure an efficient and continuous stream of materials through the site, whilst supervising the team.

Supporting the businesses processing functions in achieving the desired throughput and quality associated with the products, carrying out general maintenance, cleaning duties, and operating various plant and machinery are all essential parts of the role.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the daily running of the team
- Ensure pre-start checks are carried out on mobile and fixed plant
- Ensure the team carry out essential daily maintenance including greasing, washing, and cleaning
- Sort and prepare materials for recycling
- Operate and maintain plant, machinery and vehicles including forklift trucks, mobile plant, and other plant equipment
- Manual handling of stock, parts, and equipment
- Operate in a safe manner at all times, in line with the companies Health and Safety policy
- Allocation of staff to best meet the day-to-day requirements of the plant
- Ensure the area is kept environmentally compliant
- Maintain a stock of plant consumables to minimise downtime
- Ensure all staff are adhering to PPE Requirements, SOPs and health and safety procedures

**Skills and Knowledge Required**:
WARD are looking for an individual with excellent leadership skills and an ability to create effective working relationships. Excellent planning and organisation skills, along with the ability to prioritise work loads accordingly are also essential for the role. Experience within the waste, or a similar industry, is essential for the role.

Knowledge surrounding non-ferrous metals is essential for the role.
