**Job Description**:
Are you an experienced Geomorphologist looking to make your next move?

If yes, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our established Water team.

Here, you will be responsible for high quality project delivery, with a focus on managing services for geomorphology and river restoration.

You’ll provide coaching to peers and team members and will be sought out for technical experience.

**What can we offer?**

- River restoration designs of 2km of straightened channel on the River Till-Tweed SSSI and SAC in Northumberland.
- River restoration designs of Goldrill Beck of the River Eden Tributaries SSSI in the Lake District.
- River restoration designs for the River Lugg SSSI in Herefordshire.
- River restoration designs for the River Eye SSSI in Leicestershire.
- Weir removal designs for the 4m high Erbistock weir in the River Dee in North Wales.
- Analysis and planning of WFD mitigation measures across the whole of Yorkshire and the North East.
- Fifty detailed geomorphological field surveys for BBV / HS2.
- 2,000km of detailed geomorphological field surveys for SEPA.

**The job involves**:

- Proven experience in river restoration (from planning to detailed design and construction supervision).
- Project management (including client management), technical proposal and report writing.
- Team management, including supervision and/or mentoring.
- Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Hydraulic and geomorphological / sediment transport modelling.
- Hydrological and hydroecological investigations.
- Use of varied tools to deliver outcomes (software, models etc).
- WFD / Environmental Compliance/ EIA studies.

All members of the Water Environment team take an active role in client contact and commercial aspects of our projects. Health, safety and environmental considerations underpin all of our work.

The majority of our work is in the fluvial environment, although a significant proportion is also focused on estuaries, lakes and the marine environment.

**Qualifications**:
**We are looking for you to**:

- Highly numerate with strong analytical / statistical skills.
- Experience analysing large datasets.
- Proficiency in GIS software.
- Excellent report writing and ability to clearly present complex technical information visually and orally to a wide audience.
- Experienced in technical project delivery (from bid preparation/ drafting technical proposals to project management).
- Track record of project management.
- Ability to coordinate, liaise and engage with clients and key stakeholders.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and technical advice to support junior staff.
- Understanding of legislative requirements and other drivers.

**Desired requirements**:

- Coding experience.
- Track record in geomorphological / environmental / civil engineering.
- Membership of an appropriate professional body.
- A valid UK driving licence.
