My client is a leading international technology group specializing in electrical/electronic products based in Northumberland. Reporting to the Engineering Director, my client seeks an Design Engineer to join their power modules team.

**About the Role**

Working as part of the NPD team, my client seeks a Design Engineer to be responsible for the design of power module products. The Design Engineer will also be tasked with the upkeep and improvement of the existing product range.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Plan and execute the introduction of new products against NPI frameworks through the design and development phase
- Power module design
- Thermal, mechanical and electrical simulations
- Yield improvements and cost reduction
- Production of procurement and manufacturing specifications and drawings
- Working effectively with the sales and business development functions to contribute effect design solutions to the sales process

**About you**

To be considered for the role it is essential that you possess demonstrable electromechnical design expertise in a NPD/NPI setting within a technology business.

**Key selection criteria**:

- Experience in both mechanical & electronics CAD
- Able to perform thermal, mechanical, and electrical simulations
- Knowledge of silicon MOSFET, IGBT and SiC/GaN semiconductor technologies
- Knowledge or experience working with common semiconductor packaging materials
- Experience in Design of Experiments, 8D and data analysis
- Process development and documentation expertise
- Project planning/management experience
- Excellent communication skills
