In this role you will lead the planning and implementation in order to achieve the successful vertical start-up of new production and packing lines within a Vitamin and Medicated pastel production facility. You will ensure our start up manufacturing strategy is safely implemented and is fully effective. You will strive to build strong internal relationships with all the key stakeholders.

**How you will contribute**

You will:

- Lead Vertical Start-Up on the delivery of successful Commissioning, Qualification, Verification (CQV) / Technology, Transfer & Training (TT&T). Coordinate activities with RDQ, Engineering, Planning, and other relevant cross-functions.
- Become familiar with the project, collect preliminary information to begin developing the start-up plan, develop team charter and team communication plans.

Start-Up Implementation Strategy
- Identify start-up implementation strategy, obtain approval, and begin to develop start up plans.
- Ensure that an operational assessment is developed and implemented.
- Ensure an issue identification & resolution process is developed and used.
- Provide training and coaching on start-up processes.
- Define the project’s criteria and start-up glide path and obtain approval from management.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for key equipment.
- Build capability within the team on Global Standard CQV template and content.

For the Commissioning Plan, you need to ensure that:

- Success Criteria are agreed (PQCDSM & VSU).
- Pre-Commissioning Plan is developed.
- CTPs/CTQs are identified and agreed within the team.
- Duration of runs and products with all perquisites are defined.
- Activity Mapping Matrix is built for Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning
- Define the project’s criteria and start-up glide path and obtain approval from management.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for key equipment

For the Qualification Plan, you need to ensure that:

- Success Criteria are agreed (PQCDSM & VSU).
- Duration of runs and products with all perquisites are defined.
- Activity Mapping Matrix is built for Qualification.
- Site Specific Risks are evaluated, and actions initiated.
- Equipment & Quality FMEA is attended.
- Site Acceptance Test (SAT) is attended.

For the Verification Plan, you need to ensure that:

- Success Criteria are agreed (PQCDSM & VSU)
- Duration of runs and products with all perquisites defined.

In addition to the execution side of the VSU role, you will need to support:

- Training plan: Ensure that the TT&T Plan is developed and following Global Standards.
- Clarify all roles and responsibilities to new operators/technicians in your line.
- Support the Material Readiness Plan: Supplier(s) Material Quality, Quantity.
- Plans are developed and aligned with start-up requirements.
- Ensure that Start-Up Planning and Implementation Schedules are developed, and Resource Allocation Plan is developed.
- Ensure that Planning and Implementation Measures and Results reporting is developed and used, and that project team is aligned on how vertical start-up will be measured.
- Ensure that start-up budget is developed and approved.
- Support the engineering function to develop a PPM schedule for the new equipment and identify critical spare parts holding.

- Strong operational & manufacturing leadership experience in the food manufacturing industry or pharmaceutical industry, with experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), 5S, Integrated Lean 6 Sigma’s tools and concepts.
- Excellent communication (verbal & written).
- Coaching and leadership skills in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated abilities in analytics, problem solving, and team building
- Strong financial & business acumen, project management skills, and knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment.
- Desirably you will understand and have been trained on key pillars like IIM, AM, and PM.

**What you need to know about this position**:

- This is a full time permanent position based in Crediton (near Exeter) and applicants will either be prepared to relocate or be in commutable distance to our site (with scope for flexible working)
