**How you'll make a difference**:
Telecare and pendant alarm/alert equipment enables people to call for help anywhere within their home 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Telecare can offer peace of mind not only to customers, but also to their family and friends.

You will make a difference by providing advice and guidance to people who are older or disabled on the appropriate Telecare solutions and giving them peace of mind and security in their own home.

**What will you be doing?**
- You will provide advice to customers, colleagues, and partners to ensure that they receive appropriate guidance about Telecare.
- It will be your responsibility to maintain and update information accurately in line with Telecare policy and procedures and plan installations.
- You will install and test Telecare equipment in customer homes and ensure that they understand the technology and how the remote monitoring operates.
- You will undertake planned maintenance and asset management repairing or replacing equipment that has been reported as faulty.
- Daily, you will work in a wide range of properties being aware of different technologies being offered that may compliment or interrupt the Council’s Telecare service.
- You will make risk assessments and take due consideration for the health and safety of the customer, yourself and other people living in, visiting, or working within the home.
- You will data input, maintain case records, update spreadsheets, monitor hardware stock levels, liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and company representatives, and follow procurement procedures as required.

**What we need from you**:

- You will be educated to a minimum of 3 grade C GCSE’s (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
- You will have experience in the health or social care setting and have an awareness of emergency alarm technology and be able to use simple tools and equipment.
- You will have knowledge of Health and Safety practices when using tools and equipment in people’s homes.
- You will have an awareness of disability and the needs of older people and the role of equipment and adaptations in maintaining independence and wellbeing.
- You will be able to carry out a range of physical tasks e.g., have the flexibility to reach, bend and lift objects that may need to be moved to install Telecare.
- You will have good communication and interpersonal skills as on occasions you may be required to deal with people whose behaviour is challenging.

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
