**Midday Supervisory Assistant**
- Required to start ASAP, term time only_

Hours required: Monday to Friday 12:00 to 14:00 total 10 hours per week

Grade C £10.60 - £10.99 per hour dependent on experience.

**We are looking to recruit Midday Supervisory Assistants (MDSAs) to work 5 days a week, term time only.**

You will be part of our friendly and valued team and will supervise the children during lunch.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- To prepare tables for the lunch period and set up the equipment needed. Clear away afterwards.
- To supervise pupils at lunchtime, supporting them with eating, as required, helping to cut food and assisting with special diets, encouraging the correct use of knife, fork and spoon.
- To ensure the maintenance of good order and discipline.
- To support pupils in the toilet, which may involve changing nappies and cleaning children who have soiled. Cleaning of other bodily fluids may also be required.
- To supervise pupils at playtime, being aware of vulnerable children, different behavioral approaches, etc.
- To use manual handling techniques with pupils, as required.
- To encourage children’s communication and independence, sitting with them and encouraging good manners and appropriate talk and interaction around the table.
- Encourage positive play and activities both on the playground and indoors on wet days.
- Prepare food and help the students eat a nutritious meal.
- Be training in medical procedures.
- Communicate with the Teacher and Classroom based staff on issues arising during lunchtime9. To record details of behavior on appropriate form for commendation or sanction, as necessary.
- To participate in group supervision sessions with the Senior MDSA/Deputy Head Teacher on a regular basis.
- Promote and protect the professional reputation of the School at all times.
- Encourage positive play and activities both on the playground and indoors on wet days.
- Prepare food and help the students eat a nutritious meal.
- Be training in medical procedures.
- Communicate with the Teacher and Classroom based staff on issues arising during lunchtime

**Essential Requirements**:

- Good level of Literacy and numeracy
