**About the opportunity**:
Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
We are currently looking for a Space Planner to join the BEPPS2 team. The Space Planner role is to manage the overall lay-out development, following general guidance and direction of Area Project Engineering Managers / Project Engineering Managers and the BIM Manager. You will support all aspects of the 3D layout process during the detailed design, coordinating technical disciplines (structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, HVAC & Architectural) in line with ISO19650 and PPP Standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Developing room planning, equipment planning, and main services routing / space allocation with the discipline design leads.
- Developing the design through sketches, 3D models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express the design intent and communicate to project team, client, and building user groups.
- Utilises Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies to Develop, Maintain and Monitor the combined BIM Models in line with the project’s BIM Execution Plan.
- Identify interdisciplinary clashes, conflicts and potential issues by maintaining a line of communication between the design teams and the relevant lead team members.
- Collate information for quantitative tracking to support the estimating team.
- Support the team and if required to train and help develop the team.
**Here’s what you’ll need**:
- Ability to present ideas and solutions to the client and client representatives.
- General knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.
- Good knowledge and understanding of industrial processes and software; e.g.: Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD & Inventor.
- Proven experience, preferably on large teams and industrial construction in BIM Coordination / Space Planner position.
