**Working Hours - **Mon to Fri, alternating shifts of 08:00-16:30, 08:30-17:00 and 09:00-17:30

Our client is a leading biotechnology organisation, made of many daughter companies. They provide research services and human biosamples for use within pharmaceutical and drug discovery research, as well as clinical trials. A large part of their work necessitates the use of blood and various other biofluids, given by donors, to complete a plethora of disease research with the aim of treating disease and helping with early diagnosis. They are recruiting a Laboratory Technician into their team to process blood and other biofluids collected from volunteer donors. **The Role**

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be working in a professional environment where you will be expected to adhere to the Human Tissue Act (HTA), ISO 9001 and other internal safety standards. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Centrifugation and separation of blood samples.
- Running microbiological and viral laboratory tests on urine samples.
- Buffy coat + PBMC separation.
- Reagent preparation
- Maintenance of laboratory records.
- Laboratory cleaning and maintenance.
- Storage and handling of biological samples according to correct conditions i.e. frozen, ambient, chilled.
- A BSc in Biomedical science, or equivalent experience within a blood laboratory would be considered. (essential)
- Previous laboratory experience including centrifugation (essential)
- The ability to work effectively within a team and individually. (essential)
- A commitment to high standards of working (essential)
- Strong communication skills. (essential)
- Previous blood separation experience. (desired)
- Long-term right to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship (essential)
