**Financial Modeller**

**What is the role?**

The Financial Modeller will support the Strategic Finance Manager to provide the necessary strategic analysis and direction to the business.

The Financial Modeller will collaborate with senior internal and external stakeholders and lead the financial modelling activities associated with the corporate business plan, financing plan and strategic business cases (including Northern Runway development) which will be used for decision-making purposes by the Exec Management team and shareholders.

**What will you do?**
- Maintain and improve the cash flow model that assesses GAL's short term financing needs, as well as supports biannual reporting to banks, bondholders, and rating agencies.
- Maintain and improve GAL's long term corporate model that assists in business planning strategies and long treasury requirements
- Providing modelling support around the financial impacts of Gatwick's Contracts and Commitments regulatory framework
- Providing financial modelling support on key strategic capital expenditure and commercial business cases through detailed financial analysis and sensitivities. In particular, this role will lead the modelling of the Northern Runway business case
- Supporting in the communication of GAL's business performance and financial projections to shareholders and potential investors.
- Ensuring the availability and adequacy of data to be used in models is of sufficient quality by establishing procedures for collecting and manipulating information and building in appropriate checks and controls, including the introduction of a modelling protocol.

**Do you have what we're looking for?**
- Considerable experience in delivering high quality analysis and business cases to Senior Management
- Proven delivery of developing and delivering complex business / financial models
- Ability to operate at a senior level responsible for key business critical activities
- Commercial acumen with the ability to think strategically to maximise future business opportunities and challenge financial model inputs, outputs, and assumptions.
- Thorough understanding of financial planning tools and financial analysis concepts like investment appraisal NPV, IRR, pay-back, etc
- Financial accounting and / or corporate finance experience. An understanding of treasury is preferable
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills including VBA, graphs and statistical formulas
- Excellent communicator / influencer with the ability to flex / adapt to different audiences.
- Provide good quality, timely financial modelling advice to stakeholders, in a way that non specialists can readily understand and maintain a reputation for excellence.
- A methodical and structured approach to financial modelling practices
