Carpenter - Warehouse Role - Casing of Industrial

We are an electrical engineering company supplying equipment to the oil & gas industry based in a new warehouse in Merstham. Our business has developed that we are now in need of a full time carpenter to oversea our wooden casing and export packing requirements. These cases are designed to hold small equipment such as oil and gas valves and fittings, electrical switchgear, right up to extra large cases holding equipment between 5 - 10+ tonne. This role will also develop into a managerial role as we expect this section of the business to grow and new staff to be hired throughout 2023.

This is a fantastic opportunity to progress in the start up of our new business venture, establishing yourself as a key person within our company.

Must haves:

- Carpentry experience essential. Heavy duty export crates will need to be manufactured in our new workshop within our warehouse. Role will be to check incoming materials and prepare dimensional design with office team for cutting lists and layouts on computer software.
- Role will include setting up with management our new export and packing area in warehouse, including machinery, equipment and other materials.
- NVQ Level 2 preferable. At least 3 years experience with a carpentry background.
- Computer literate
- Data entry and computer skills may be required

**Responsibilities**:

- Liaising with our office team for incoming deliveries and managing team for loading of goods into containers etc.
- Oversea the packing of equipment, ranging from small crates, to crates holding 5 - 10 tonne equipment, 5+m long.
- Overseeing inspection of inbound materials.
- Managing supply of timber and other equipment required for packing projects.
- Working with the warehouse team to insure all incoming stock for faults and damages and reporting any damaged goods are reported to yourself and dealt with.
- Control over all parts inventory held on site, including paperwork.
- Establish efficient warehouse storage solutions/designs and ensure all stock is correctly stored in appropriate areas of the warehouse.

Monday - Friday - 8.30 - 5pm
