Purchase Ledger Assistant

Gleaner provides a wide range of fuels and lubricants for domestic, agricultural, commercial, marine and offshore customers from our network of depots throughout Scotland. These products include Heating Oils, Road Fuels and LP Gas. We are seeking to strengthen our team via the recruitment of a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our Finance Team.

This role will take ownership for the efficient operation of the Gleaner Ltd purchase ledger and is a key role within the finance team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Daily processing of supplier invoices and credit notes ensuring invoices are approved and matched to PO’s.
- Process employee expense forms
- Working with colleagues across the business to resolve invoice queries as and when they arise
- Scanning of supplier invoices to DocuShare
- Reconciliation of supplier statements on a monthly basis
- Preparation and recording of bi monthly payment runs to suppliers
- Posting petty cash for Elgin and Aberdeen depots
- Play a lead role in the development of the Purchase Ledger process including supplier record update, automation of the issuing of remittances and importing payment file to the banking software.
- Assist the team in assessing the benefits of invoice automation

**The Person**:

- Previous purchase ledger experience required
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Good communication skills
- Previous experience in automating the purchase ledger process would be beneficial
- High attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload to ensure deadlines met

**Hours**: Monday to Friday; 8.30am to 5.00pm (37.5 hours per week). Flexibility required from time to time
