Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Senior Arborist based in the Slough area.

The successful post holder will will be leading a three man Arb team. They will work in a small team of arborists to carry arboriculture works primarily within Parks and Open Spaces.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To undertake a variety of aerial based arboricultural works in accordance with your level of experience and qualifications, including but not exclusive of pruning (crown thinning, reducing), felling, and pest & disease control.
- To undertake a variety of ground based arboricultural works, including but not exclusive of planting, stump removal, stemming, logging, clearing, chipping, and pest & disease control.
- To carry out daily vehicle checks on Arb vehicles and trailers. To be the main allocated driver for the arb team, and drive Arb vehicle with trailer (as required) to various locations within and outside L.B.Enfield.
- To inspect and maintain all powered tools used in arboricultural operations, to include chain saws, winches, wood chippers, MEWP and stump grinders.
- To inspect and maintain of all hand tools and associated equipment used in arboricultural operations to include climbing and rigging equipment, ropes and ladders.
- To setup, maintain and remove safety barriers, cones, and signs for safe working zones, including Traffic management when required.
- To work in a variety of locations to undertake arboricultual operations including but not exclusive of Parks, Housing, Highways, Education, and Corporate sites.
- To undertake and record Risk Assessments.
- To answer enquires on site whilst undertaking works.
- To be competent in performing aerial rescue and ground based arboricultural works.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Qualified and experienced to carry out chainsaw maintenance i.e. CS30.1 - Chainsaw Maintenance.
- Qualified and experienced to use chainsaw to cross-cut and stack timber i.e. CS30.2 - Cross-cut and stack small diameter using chainsaw.
- Qualified and experienced in felling and processing small trees i.e. CS31 - Fell and Process small trees.
- Qualified and experienced to perform aerial rescues i.e. CS38 - Climb Trees and Perform Aerial Rescue.
- Significant practical experience working as a tree surgery specialist.
- Qualified and experienced in use of a chainsaw from a rope and harness at height i.e. CS39 - Use a chainsaw from rope and harness.
- 3 Years work references.

**Desirable**:

- Driving License with C1 / C1E / BE entitlement.
- First Aid.
- Lantra/City & Guilds - Stump Grinding operations.
- Lantra/City & Guilds - Wood Chipper operations.
- MEWP & Chainsaw use in MEWP.
- City & Guilds - Street works Signing Lighting and Guarding.
- PA1 & PA6 Safe Use of Pesticides.

**WORKING HOURS AND RATE**:

- Mon - Fri, 07:30-15:45
- Rate: £21.44 p/h

**Salary**: £21.44 per hour

Licence/Certification:

- CS30.1 - Chainsaw Maintenance qualification or equivalent (required)
- Chainsaw to cross-cut and stack timber qualification (required)
