Polytec are looking for a Buyer to take on responsibility for supplier management, purchasing and pricing for our Saffron Walden client.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop, improve and strengthen relationships and supply agreements
- Develop and communicate supplier metrics (OTD, Quality)
- Place Purchase Orders with suppliers and chase through to delivery
- Identify and mitigate risk for suppliers and products
- Source and evaluate new suppliers
- Supplier liaison
- Negotiate price reductions, lead times and terms and conditions
- Oversee Goods-in and invoicing of purchased items
**Requirements**:

- Degree or CIPS Level 6
- Several years' experience in a supply chain / procurement / logistics role
- Supplier relationship management (negotiation, evaluation and supply agreements)
- Proficient with MRP and ERP systems
- Knowledge of import procedures and logistics
- Strong analytical and statistical skills
- Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
- IT literate, competent user of MS Office, specifically Excel
