Position Overview: We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate individuals to join our healthcare team as Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) or Healthcare Technicians (HCTs). As an HCA/HCT, you will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care and support to ensure the well-being and comfort of our patients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in a safe and compassionate manner.

**Responsibilities**:
Patient Care: Provide direct care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Monitor vital signs, record patient information, and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.

Supportive Services: Assist patients with mobility and transfer, ensuring their safety and comfort. Help patients with ambulation, use of assistive devices, and positioning. Provide emotional support and engage in therapeutic communication to promote patient well-being.

Assisting with Procedures: Prepare patients for medical procedures and assist healthcare professionals during examinations or treatments. Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring availability of necessary supplies and equipment.

Documentation and Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information, observations, and interventions in the electronic medical records system. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to relevant policies and procedures related to record keeping.

Infection Control: Follow strict infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and environmental cleanliness. Take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of infections within the healthcare facility.

Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, including nurses, doctors, therapists, and other staff members. Provide updates on patient status and communicate any changes or concerns promptly.

Patient Education: Assist in providing patient education on topics such as self-care, medication management, and disease prevention. Ensure that patients and their families understand the information provided and address any questions or concerns.

Emergency Response: Maintain readiness to respond to emergencies and assist in emergency procedures as required. Follow established protocols for emergency situations, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid.

Qualifications and Skills:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized healthcare assistant or technician training program is preferred.
- Relevant certification or licensure may be required based on local regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine interest in caring for others.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, infection control practices, and patient care principles.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, lifting, and assisting with patient transfers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: £15.00-£18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Oxford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Care home: 1 year (preferred)
- Home care: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
