We are now recruiting for a Computing Subject Lead (Primary) to join our Education and Public Benefit team, in a 24-month fixed term opportunity, working full time (Up to 35 hours per week) in a field-based capacity.

**Role context and purpose**:

The Primary Computing Subject Lead’s purpose is to provide expert input to our programmes and initiatives with responsibilities including strategic planning, delivery of resources and CPD, and stimulating community engagement. Your work would predominantly support our Computing at School (CAS) and Barefoot Educator programmes.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Subject Matter Expertise**
- Keep abreast of pedogeological and political changes

**Community Building & Teacher Engagement**
- Stimulate primary educator activity within our Communities, primarily Computing at School (CAS) and Barefoot.
- Have a presence in our online educator forums, stimulating discussion and responding to primary queries.
- Proactively seek opportunities to work within primary networks and influencer groups across the UK.

**Content, CPD & Resource Development**
- Update primary resources and assist with the creation of new materials.
- Contribute content for a monthly newsletters/blogs/articles.
- Deliver online and face to face workshops to our primary educator audience.

**Leadership**
- Champion diversity and help to enhance inclusivity.
- Work closely with the ED&PB team to build cohesive plans, share successes and identify risks to the overall programme.

**General**
- Establish highly effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to generate commitment to our goals.
- Maintain an awareness of economic, social, political, environmental and technological developments to keep activity relevant and targeted.
- Be sensitive to the views and perspectives of stakeholders about the landscape surrounding computing education in the UK.

**Who should apply/Requirements**:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a minimum of 2 years of primary teaching experience in the UK.
- Demonstrable experience and well-connected in the computing education sector.
- Strong leadership qualities, able to inspire, influence, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent BCS effectively in various forums.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK as required.

**Special conditions**:

- Regular travel throughout the UK.
- A full UK driving license.
- Ability to work outside office hours/weekends/attend social or networking events or conferences.
