**Position Summary**:
The Handy Man role is a critical role within The Good Companions (Cumbria) Ltd, working directly with employees to help them stay safe while working on their assigned tasks. The Handy Man will work closely with other The Good Companions (Cumbria) Ltd team members as well as with our outside contractors. The Handy Man will be responsible for inspecting the work area and all equipment in order to ensure that safety procedures are followed at all times. The Handy Man will also be responsible for ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with schedule and quality standards. The Handy Man will report any issues observed during the task to the Plant Manager and/or Plant Supervisor.

**Responsibilities**:

- Determine if job safety is being compromised by unsafe working conditions or equipment or tools.
- Take action to ensure job safety is maintained by following appropriate safety procedures and abiding by plant quality standards.
- Inspect job sites and other areas of the plant to ensure they are clear of hazards.
- Take action to ensure equipment is in good working order by following appropriate safety procedures and following quality standards.
- Document observations and actions during day on appropriate forms and report any issues to the Plant Manager and/or Plant Supervisor.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures as well as legal regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information.
- Work within specific timelines required by the client (e.g., deadlines)..
- Keep accurate records of daily activities, time spent, issues faced etc.
- Work in a team environment to maintain a positive attitude towards everyone involved in the job.
- Adhere to plant health policy and quality standard when working on tasks.
- Other duties as assigned (please note that duties may change from day-to-day)..

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £11.44-£12.45 per hour
