NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Speech and Language Therapy team for Children and Young People in East Renfrewshire. The Speech and Language Therapy team for Children and Young People delivers services at universal, targeted and specialist levels and aims to support the wellbeing needs of children, and their families, at the earliest opportunity by working in collaboration with our communities and health and education partners. You will assess, treat and manage your own caseload, maintain appropriate records, work collaboratively with the clients, carers and other agencies to enable and maximise self-management and provide clinical support to other students/staff on SLT issues, as well as supervising the work of assistants. This post is based in Barrhead Health Centre but SLTs and CSWs work in a variety of settings, e.g., clinics, mainstream schools and nurseries, Additional Support Needs Establishments and in the home environment across East Renfrewshire. A Car driver is essential. You will form part of a dynamic team of practitioners with wide and varied expertise and skills and be supported by an experienced team lead.
