To work collaboratively with Dietetic and Speech and Language Therapy Teams, ISS Facility Services and other key stakeholders as the Trust Lead Food Services Dietitian. This post will work strategically across the Trust and will be responsible for leading University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust in the design, implementation and evaluation of a food and drink strategy in accordance with NHSE National standards for healthcare food & drink championing excellence in nutrition and hydration for our patients, visitors staff.

This is a full-time, permanent role working across both University Hospital Coventry & Rugby St Cross Hospital.

To work with front line catering teams, catering managers, Dietitians and other stakeholders across the MDT to support the development and review of hospital menus and wider Trust food and drink provision. This will include:
To ensure the Trust delivers a wide range of standard, therapeutic, religious and cultural diets to meet the needs and expectation of our patients, staff and wider hospital community.

To work with the trust catering and wider multidisciplinary teams to promote food first principles across the acute trust.

To act as a source of expertise in the analysis, development and review of hospital menus.

Ensure all hospital menus are nutritionally adequate and reflect best practice guidelines including hospital food standards, allergen information and IDDSI recommendations

Work jointly with catering, nursing and dietetics to initiate, plan and deliver Trust education and training in nutrition.

To represent dietetics and catering at Trust Nutrition Steering Committee, Patient Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) audits, Procurement, regional formulary and catering meetings.

Acts as a source of expertise in dietetics practice locally, regionally and nationally.

Be involved in the training and supervision of dietetic students and dietetic support workers as per BDA standards.

Contributes to designing, planning, implementing and publishing research and audits.

Champions training and education in relation to first line dietary advice and cost savings across the health care economy.

lead on dietetic food service representation for nutrition report to board,

attendance at relevant trust wide meetings and steering groups

lead on the writing and implementation of Trust wide food and drink strategy and responsible for any associated KPIs attached to this.

Have oversight / lead on training and audit relevant to food services.

To represent the Trust externally, at a local and national level.
