Humberside Police are recruiting for a Senior Buildings Surveyor to join the Joint Estates Team. We are looking for someone who will lead, plan and implement effective building surveying services across the estate, ensuring that a safe working environment is provided for all building users.

**The role includes**:

- Formalising planned programmes of works, scheduling work and instruct and manage the Building Surveyor’s programmes of work.
- Develop and establish a programme of works to improve and maintain the condition of property within the estates portfolio.
- Direct and manage the role of Building Surveyor, establishing work programmes and targets. Monitor and develop this role and progress its ongoing development.
- Prepare relevant reports for Force committees in relation to fabric and infrastructure for buildings within the Estate.
- Plan and manage a programme of capital works, planned maintenance and minor improvements.
- Checks worksheets, organise any required remedial works and submit accounts updating in house database and preparing monthly reports on contractor performance.
- Analyse items of reported reactive maintenance to identify recurring faults and identify problems.
- Undertake building surveys of sites, checking the utilisation and currency of plans and records and updates the condition survey database including AutoCAD plans in conjunction with the Buildings Administrator.
- Manage the Estates Service requirements on infrastructure and systems for Fire Risk Assessments (FRA).
- Attend departmental and other meetings, preparing written reports, technical specifications and tender documentation, using companies procured through established frameworks.

**What is required?**
- Literate and numerate.
- HNC/D in Building Studies or related qualification.
- Member of Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB, RICS or RIBA).
- Relevant Health and Safety qualification, e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction.
- Substantial experience working in property management related environment.
- Experience of undertaking building/project based risk assessments, including fire risk assessments.
- Has achieved or commits to working towards Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management.
- Has knowledge of proximity access systems, database systems, ordering and invoicing for systems used for financial control.
- Ability to, lead projects, heading project teams and leading meetings with contractors and consultants.
