Job Purpose:
To support the Production Manager and the team to achieve effective, safe and efficient running of the mixing room.
- Follow the Health and Safety (H&S) procedures and ensure all potential hazards are observed and reported
- Follow the company processes, site operating procedures in relation to food safety, allergen control and maintain good manufacturing practices (GMP) throughout the shift
- Follow clean as you go policy and high standards of personal hygiene
- Deliver high standards of quality ensuring products are produced to the customer satisfaction in line with site standards and customer specification
- Minimize environmental impact by ensuring company procedures are adhered to regarding waste disposal
- Support the New Product Development (NPD) process
- Use and maintain all equipment/machinery in a correct manner and report any equipment/machinery issues
- Monitor the quality of the products; maintain agreed GMP standards and assist in the remedial actions to resolve any non -conformances and respond to NCR’s raised within agreed timescale
- Meet relevant KPIs and targets assign by Company
- Maintain and develop a set skill level with your team ensuring enough skill is available at all times such as holiday and absence
- Provide documented and recorded support and training to new starters and existing team members within the production team for their continuous improvement and development
- Plan labour allocation in accordance to the production plans. Manage staff in the mixing room department.
- Liaise with the Warehouse department to ensure availability of materials for production preventing any shortages and downtime
- Monitor progress against the production plan and support the team in overcoming delays and constraints
- Communicate with all Supervisors to achieve best results in mixing room area without compromising production output
- Actively challenging mixing operatives to achieve the required product quality, GMP standards and recipe & procedure adherence
- Actively challenging mixing operatives to complete raw material and WIP tagging & documentation
- Supporting organization of working locations within the prep areas to ensure segregation of products, waste, allergens and ‘traffic’
- Verifying ingredients ordered by mixers and ensuring if they are following the recipes to minimize incorrect mixes and other errors. Investigating and approving extra orders
- Reporting downtime in Gemba system
- Reporting progress in Mixing Room by sending out reports and handovers to following shift
- Attending daily meetings and update the actions accordingly
- Co-working with mixing room QA for best quality results. Checking chiller in regards to correct tagging and following RM storage matrix
- Assisting in achieving successful customer audits and visits
- Support Project Coordinators with waste reduction and support Project Coordinators in yield verification
- You may be assigned to other work tasks and you will be expected to perform any reasonable requests and additional tasks as requested.

Qualifications:

- Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene
- Level 2 HACCP
- Essential Hygiene and Chemical Awareness
- ESOL Level 1 or equivalent (preferable)

**Experience**:

- Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
- Experience in a Supervisor role
