At Poppleton Ousebank, we begin caring for a child as soon as the family walks through the door. We believe that each step of a child’s education is as important as the one before.

With this in mind, we continue to provide inspiring and memorable learning experiences throughout their learning journey. We recognise that children learn in different ways, that they learn best when their emotions are engaged and that learning should be fun, creative and relevant. To support us in achieving our goals we are looking to appoint a non class based part-time SENDCo (Primary) 2 days per week (0.4 FTE), to join our team at Poppleton Ousebank Primary School.

As a member of the senior leadership team and under the direction of the Principal the job holder will:

- Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEND) policy and provision in the school
- Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy, in conjunction with other staff, and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND or a disability
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
