Concept Technologist

**You will be responsible for, but not limited to**:

- To be fully conversant with our health and safety operating practices
- Responsible for NPD customer account management for given accounts.
- Responsible for managing projects with gates 1-3 (concept stages) for given customers
- Responsible for critical path generation, concept development within budget - including recipe development, submission forms, making kitchen samples, attending customer submissions
- Responsible for costing generation, ensuring projects are delivered in full to the desired cost
- Work closely with Senior packaging technologist to ensure packaging strategies are considered in NPD projects and packaging in line with customer requirements are delivered on time as part of the NPD process
- Work cross functionally to ensure the key stakeholders from supply chain, operations, technical, sales and engineering are aware of new concepts and have inputted into the development process at each stage.
- Support NPD manger with customer visits preparation and execution.
- Highlight, when necessary, issues with project timelines mean a project is behind or likely to miss critical path both internally and externally
- Lead customer meetings and presentations in line with NPD procedures
- Generation and supply of all NPD documentation and paperwork as required by customer or internal NPD process

**What's required?**
- Strong enthusiasm and passion for new product development
- A keen interest in trends and product innovation
- 3-5 years experience in NPD from concept to launch with both retail and food service customers
- Bakery experience preferred but not essential
- Recipe and ingredient knowledge preferred
- Ability to work within a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft office systems (excel, outlook etc)
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- UK Driving licence
- Basic food hygiene certificate
