**About The Role**:
We’re looking for a Pathology Administrator to join our Pathology team at our clinic in Romford. **This is a 1-year fixed term contract**, working 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
We are ideally looking for someone who can work, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 08:00-16:00.
Our histopathology laboratory utilises a digital pathology platform, producing the highest quality results, with fast turnaround times. With state-of-the-art equipment and modern surroundings, this really is an excellent working environment.
**What you will do**:
Working within our Pathology team, you will assist in the provision of an efficient and smooth-running laboratory service. You will work in all areas of the laboratory as required, ensuring data entry, printing, distribution, telephone, and other office duties.
- Undertake laboratory waste disposal, cleaning, and other general laboratory duties.
- Provide effective, confidential, and comprehensive administrative support, ensuring that all activities are appropriately prioritised and actioned in a timely manner.
- Accessioning histology samples into the laboratory information system, working with colleagues in the clinics on-site and off-site. Occasional use of stairs may be required for this purpose.
- Ensure that samples meet acceptance criteria for testing and deal with any non-compliance in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Undertake occasional heavy lifting (up to 20 kg), including disposable waste or supplies.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources, maintaining stock levels as appropriate.
**About you**:
- Excellent communication, attention to detail and team working skills.
- The ability to organise, prioritise and meet departmental performance targets.
- Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English Language.
- Excellent computer skills, with preferably previous data entry experience.
- Capable of intense periods of concentration
- Demonstrate a high level of accuracy
