Denholm are delighted to be working with our financial services client on a great opportunity for a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer - Azure to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a UK based remote working role. This is a brand new position to thebusiness and gives you the opportunity to shape how the business utilises Azure Cloud Platform moving forwards.
The Lead Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for supporting the Head of Cloud Capability in creating, defining and directing the Cloud Capability Centre and the adoption of Cloud capabilities - IaaS, PaaS - within the business.
It is a pivotal role in ensuring that we have the right technologies in place, the right people in place and the most productive environment available to ensure our company achieves its strategy and vision. To do so the role must consider the following factors:

- The direction of Business Strategy and its impact to IT
- The direction of the Group Technology strategy as communicated by the CTO and Head of group Technology Strategy
- The technologies, security, trouble spots, growing pains and required strategies, reference architectures & patterns to support cloud usage across the business
- IT landscape / industry trends
- Previous experience in a senior technical role.
- Highly motivated, can-do attitude with an attention to detail.
- Able to work with multiple key stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
- Proactive strategic leadership, demonstrable skills in the design, communication and delivery of Cloud technologies and frameworks.
- Ability to engage and communicate at all levels from Technical gurus to Executive Management
- Strategic vendor / supplier management

**Technical Skills**
- Azure (required) / Amazon Web Services (desirable)
- Infrastructure as a Service - virtualisation, containerisation, Storage
- Cloud policy definition and management
- Cloud networking - V-NET Peering, Private Networking, Load Balancing, Layer 3 and 7 Firewalls, Network Security Groups
- Infrastructure as Code / ARM / Terraform / PowerShell / Chef / AWS CloudFormation (desirable)
- CI/CD pipelines YAML / Git Actions
- Management and Monitoring in Cloud environments
- Well Architected Framework principles and processes
