**Club Supervisor, Young at Heart Clubs and Memory Loss Clubs**

**Location: Various locations across Dacorum including Hemel Hempstead, Bourne End, Berkhamsted and Northchurch**

**Hours 10 hours per week**

**Wage/ salary £11.20 per hour**

Our Young at Heart Clubs and Memory Loss Clubs provide a safe, caring, stimulating environment for older people in the local community.

This role will provide cover for the Club Leaders during periods of annual leave and sickness. It will operate within agreed standards set out in the partnership agreements between Age UK Dacorum, Age UK Hertfordshire and Hertfordshire Community Foundation.

The role will also provide administrative support to the Club Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and organise the day for clients with support from the Club Assistants and Volunteers including stimulation, motivation, health information/improvement, meals and refreshments, leisure activities and outings
- Organise the setting up of the Club for the day and tidying up at the end of the day, which may involve moving furniture;
- Coordinate transport for the clients where needed, ensuring they are collected and returned to their homes using the designated transport;
- Organise collection and/or distribution of midday meals and refreshments and to organise escorting clients to the dining area;
- In consultation with the Clubs Manager, ensure that there is adequate staff cover at all times;
- Undertake the administration for the day centre, including keeping accurate daily records and preparing reports as required, in line with requirements for Age UK Dacorum and its partners;
- Oversee budget and petty cash and ensure records are completed as appropriate;
- Record any accidents or incidents and report to the Clubs Manager;
- Always follow AUKD Health and Safety policies and procedures and carry out regular risk assessments to ensure the health and safety of clients, staff and volunteers. Also ensure that the premises, transport and activities conform to current legislation;
- Telephoning clients and answering any queries on behalf of the Clubs Manager;
- Managing waiting lists for clubs under the supervision of the Clubs Manager;
- Recording contact with clients on the Charity Log database;
- Answering queries from clients, their families and other professionals;
- Preparation of Club resources to assist the Club Leaders

You must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- Previous experience or an demonstrable understanding of common challenges faced by the elderly;
- First class organisational skills where you are able to prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, together with the ability to organise and multi-task as required;
- The ability to tailor your communication style to suit the needs of your audience;
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- A flexible, optimistic approach with the self-confidence and a problem solving thinking style to deal with any complexities that arise;
- A commitment to quality standards and achieving results;
- Proven IT skills including MS Office and Outlook to an intermediate level as well as database management experience
- A full UK driving licence and a willingness to use your car to travel as required
- Accessibility to AUKD offices
- The ability to be flexible in working hours.from time to time

You should also have
- A knowledge of the voluntary and statutory sector;
- Previous experience of running similar clubs, working within the public sector or a charitable organisation delivering services to the community;
- Experience of delivering activities including for example physical activity
- Experience of dealing with either volunteers and /or the elderly/vulnerable. This could have been gained from a previous role or a personal situation.
