Able to plan and prioritise workload. Make clinical judgement on a new referral and advise on the urgency and nature of the appointment. To arrange follow up appointments for orthoptic patients on all clinics in the hospital and community. To liaise with and give detailed medical information to all members of the Orthoptic team and other professions as necessary to establish a high-quality coordinated Service, e.g.
education, MDTs, other health care professionals, optometrists, GPs. To be responsible for accepting, co-ordination and organising referrals and appointments for new patients. Participate and make recommendations for the provision of patient information. To liaise with clerical and admin staff regarding patients records and appointments.
To be solely responsible for the single-handed running of community clinics both administratively and professionally.
